Well if the IPod Is sleeping it wakes up when you plug it in, its just the radio doesn't have a tab or a "section" to listen to the device

But is the Uconnect module working? That is why I'm asking if the voice command part appears to be working....and does the Bluetooth appear to be working?

The whole system is an integration of modules that speak to each other through the Can bus, so to determine what 'could' be the culprit, all the other things that don't appear to have anything to do with it, might. In your case, you plugged the iPod cable into the Uconnect module....which although it seems strange to me, is not surprising, as everything is integrated. In this case, if all the Uconnect functions are working properly, we can likely eliminate that module as a point of failure.....however, if there are Uconnect issues as well, then it is possible that module is the point of failure.

So even though the voice commands and bluetooth don't really have anything to do with the iPod, they may, through integration, be a usable test point to determine whats wrong.

As I have recently learned here, there are generation 3 Rams where a failure in the power door locks is corrected by replacing the instrument cluster.... Go figure!

This is how it works on my RES radio (the radio without the touchscreen). When I plug the Itouch into the cable (that is plugged into the port in the glovebox) my Itouch beeps and the screen goes on. I have to press the "Disc Aux" button on my radio to hear music from my Itouch. I can then press and rotate the Large button on the right side of the radio to select album/song/etc. from my Itouch. I think it should work the same on the REN radio however the button to press would be different, perhaps the RADIO MEDIA button. Just a thought.

Have you disconnected the radio? Try disconnecting the radio from the harness behind it, let it sit for a little bit and then plug it back in.

This is probably a stupid question for you.

But on your radio, when you have pressed the Radio/Media button on the mygig, you can see the HDD, Disc, AUX, VES tabs right? if you see the AM, FM, SAT tabs you need to press the Radio/Media button again to see the screen with the ipod button IIRC (as it will be with the HDD, Disc, AUX, VES tab screen
