Default air for cai

I don't know if anyone has done this yet or not. I have an open end air filter on the end of my 4" tube for air intake. So what I did to stay away from sucking up hot air from engine bay is bought a hose to go from the open end of filter to go through by radiator and mounted it behind grill. This helped my mpg go up to about 13 mpg from around 11.

Your 4" pipe must not be very long.
The 3" I used I didn't need to add a tube. I would like to see a pic of yours

edit: here is the rest of the pipe

I do have a shorter tube. So I bought an aftermarket flex pipe to go from cone filter to behind the grill. New to this stuff. I'll do my best to get some pictures posted soon.

Hey Love My,
Did you purchase a CAI or is it DIY? Did the additional 2MPG happen after adding the flex hose of after the entire CAI?
Pics please :-)

I haven't got any pics yet. Computer crashed with virus. The mileage increase was after tube. I'll try soon to get pics. Sorry for the delay.

Hey guys, I'm having trouble finding 3" emt with a 90 bend for the intake I started building. Been to Rona and Home Depot and struck out. I could use pvc and fasten a 90 elbow but I like the diy that wermbag used, looks cleaner. Any ideas where else to shop for that emt?
