Default A/C Tips?

Just wondering if any of yall have any quick tips for making the a/c colder other than recharging the system...I have a 96' 1500 with the 5.2. The a/c works fine but does'nt really get cold unless it's raining out for some reason but when its hot and sunny it does'nt seem to get as cold as it should. could it be a dirty filter in the a/c system and if it is where would it be located? I'm not a mechanic but my buddy told me that he cleaned out his blower motor and he said afterwards his a/c blew alot harder. Could that also be a possiblity with mine and if so where would the blower motor be located on my truck and how would i remove it to clean it? thanks for any help guys !

The A/C is going to be less effective with hotter temps and higher humidity. That's to be expected with a perfectly functioning system. Your truck doesn't have an A/C filter so you don't have to worry about that. If your blower motor housing is restricted, cleaning it out can fix that but it won't make it blow colder. Bottom line - get the level and pressures checked and have it recharged if needed.

Make sure your condensor stays clean and clear of any debris . Your A/C always works best in max also . It recirculates the cool air in the cab instead of bringing outside air in to be cooled .

Thanks guys on the help and break down of the system. I may just remove all the old refrigerant and recharge with new and hopefully that works. It blows cold but somedays its so hott that a really cold a/c would be great. I'm definately going to look at the blower motor housing and see if it needs cleaning and i'll take a look at the condensor I'm sure it has some stuff stuck in the fins...Thanks again guys...
