Default 2010 Ram R/T Install

Well, had her for about three weeks now. Time to start working on the audio! The goal is to simply upgrade the factory sound as easy and cost effectively as possible. The factory head unit and amp are fine for my needs, and will be retained.

Here is the gear that will be going on:

Front Stage:

Rainbow Germanium components:

Vifa TG9FD-10-04 fullrange - this will be replacing the center channel:

I'll try to do a better tutorial this time for anyone looking to follow the same path.

Here is the door panel removed:

As you can tell Dodge really did their homework making these doors better than previous gens. Sealed up well, minimal weight and vibrations. There are still a few though, that will be remedied before going further.

To remove the panel, first pull straight out on the pillar trim near the side mirrors:

The trim around the handle must be removed as well. Simply pop back the screw cover, and undo the philips screw behind it:

There will then be seven of these holding the panel on. Remove them with a TORX driver and a flathead screwdriver:

Then pull straight up on the panel! Voila! Door panel removed.

You can then access these:

400 RMS, 800 max. That Blaupunkt will be giving it about 250, which is perfect for my needs. It gets pretty loud off very little power.

Time for dash speaker access, I know this has been a question asked a few times on here. Couldn't be easier to get to them, getting them out however... can be a beyotch. There are two screws holding them, and only a tiny little socket can access them.

GENTLY pry up from the back, don't want to damage your dash:

Remove the two screws, these took me quite awhile, especially the one closest to the windshield:

Lift up, and remove the retaining clip:

That is yet to be determined. I'd like to fit them either under the dash or behind the kick panels, but will locate under a seat if I have to. The Rainbow Germaniums are quite unique in that they do not have one input, there is a separate input for the tweeters and the woofers, so you can really dial in the sound. I'm running the left and right dash speakers into the tweeter inputs, and the left and right door speakers into the woofer inputs.
