Default sometimes missing but no check light

Today when i started my truck it sounded like it was missing. But after i revved the engine it quit. So i started driving and every now and then it would feel like it was missing. Also it seemed to be running a little hot (75%) when driving under 20 or at stops, but when started driving at speed it would cool to normal. I just bought this truck 20 days ago and rely on this truck for my work any help would be greatfull. thanks in advance.

The computer will store a misfire code . You should take it back to the dealer and have it scanned before your warranty runs out (I'm quessing that it has a 30 day warranty) . As for it running hot it could be just about anything . Again have it looked at .

Well i took it to the dealership today and they could not find anything wrong. So when i went to the dealership to pick the truck up i talked to the mechanic. We went out to the truck and after listening to it run and looking under the hood we decided that the fan clutch may be the culprit to the truck running warm. but as for the missfiring no clue, maybe bad gas or a fluke.

I was going to say something is wrong with the fan if it is hot at stops and cool when driving. I guess the mechanic and yourself found that out already ahha. Just hope that the misfire doesnt happen again!!

Let's start with ol' reliable - the plenum pan gasket! Anyone pull the plugs and have a look at them yet? Perform the vacuum check? How about the TSB for inductive crossfiring?

Well i dont think that has been checked but i will look into it. it hasnt misfired since so im hoping that it was just bad gas but i plan on being preventative and changing the plugs. Where would i find the plenum pan gasket
