Default Removing cats question

Ok I looked before I decided to ask this question so I would like some help on this please. I'm thinking about removing my cats on my 06 hemi 1500 I know the o2 sensor will go off but has anyone ever tried to keep the o2 sensor in and just cut the cat out and place the new pipe attached to the o2 sensor and place new pipe after it. Thus removing the cat but keeping the sensor. If anyone knows the answer or wants to get a better example of what I mean please feel free to ask.

Thanks Hays
