Default Adding Factory Fog Lights on a '96 1500

I have a '96 1500 that did not come with factory fog lights. I searched but could not find a specific answer.

What all is involved in adding the factory fog lights?

Hey, i am also looking at installing fog lights on my 98 ram. Im sure its very simple just like all my other lights on my truck i have 8 kc offroad lights. There should be a ground, a battery, and a illumination wire for the switch. Did you want to wire it directly to the headlight switch in your truck? I was planning on just wiring it to another toggle switch on my dash. If you do plan to wire it in make sure you use a relay, it will protect your lights in the future. The only thing im puzzled on is acually mounting the lights to my bumber!

Normally, you should be able to get an OEM kit that is plug and play.

You should have an harness and connector down front near your bumper on both sides. Go look for that first.

If you have it, call the dealer for the OEM kit. It includes the foglight cans, harness, bulbs, a couple of zip ties and a new switch.

If you don't have a stock harness, your best bet is to go with an aftermarket kit that contains the cans, bulbs, harness, a switch and a relay. Easy to wire up and put on.

Good luck!

I have the 2 plugs under the truck. I will have to call the dealership and see what it cost.
