Default bang for the buck mods

just got my 2003 4.7 and i want to open it up a little bit. i plan on towing snowmobiles in the winter but thats about it for towing. its 4x4 and i'd love to get the best gas milage i can. im not looking for awsome power, just better performance and better MPG's for the best price. idk if that means buying a programmer, CAI, or exhaust or something else?

The big 3 are CAI, exhaust and a programmer. You'll get various opinions as to which is best.

yeah, a good CAI, cat-back, and programmer should be fine for a little bit of extra power...

what size tires, what gears do you have? Are you looking for better mpg in town or Highway? I think the best bang for the Buck would be gears. Its not cheap and in your case you would have to pay double. But a better gear would help move that heavy a$$ truck. Also a good programmer would help alot. With those two mods youll see more of a difference then you would with a cai, exhaust.

I'm not saying those mod arent good, but for the money you spend on those you wont see near the performance with the other two.

I didn't compare them to anything. He stated he has a 4x4. Sorry for the confusion.

Super chips 3865 would be your best bet for a tuner.
