anyone install aftermarket automatic runner boards (the one's that fold out when u open the door and fold in when u close) or have them installed? if so where did you get them from, how much do they cost to buy and to have installed?

They would be kind of cool but I like nerf bars and think that a couple hinged brackets would not be stable enough for me.

Installation costs but they(AMP Research anyway) come with everything you need to install them, not hard to do. This set took me about 2.5hrs I guess... its easier if you have a lift to get the nut-serts installed for the armatures. The DS/4th Gen truck ones are easier to install vs a 3rd Gen where you have to drill and rivet the brackets on. These are my second set... very good quality.

You can find them at ElectricStep.com and other internet vendors along the way.

They're definitely a neat feature . But I like the nerf bars . They help protect your doors when in a parking lot .

I have them on my truck and love them because of the kids, and i weigh 270 lbs and there pretty stable to me, i would recommend

Does the in-floor storage bins interfere with these running boards? My friend has these on his truck. Every once in a while they stop working, not sure what caused it. But they are really nice when they work.
