What about making spacers out of say aluminum round stock and get longer bolts. I have never sone anything like this but I do remember back in the day people would use hockey pucks as spacers to lift the bodies on trucks.

I would assume its pretty straight forward, but I didn't make these. A friend who builds sub boxes made some for Dodges and gave me a pair. If I were going to make some, I would start with measuring the width of the brace that mounts to the floor because you will want the spacer the same width, don't go any wider because the box may not fit. Then measure the distance between the screw mounting holes and mark them on the wood spacers. Drill them out and then find the longer bolts at a hardware shop. Hopefully this helps.

mine are exactly like txhemi's but i used a 2x4 cut them into 14 inch lengths then had a buddy with a table saw rip them to 2 inches wide marked out the holes and bought longer bolts it only took 25 min to reinstall them your goin to need a good big ratchet as well.
