Default E cut outs VS. Cam

Ok so my first plan for my truck was to cam it. I was going to go with the crazy j. I have a shop in Fayetteville that said they could do the labor for $300 said they have cammed a couple of chargers. the thing is that when I finally cam my truck I want to do it right. IE push rods, lifters... the whole nine yards. Cause its my DD. I have about 2500-3000 dallors to drop in it. But I want the HMD cut outs and with my budget I can't do lifters and Push rods. So what will the cut outs help with except for my wife wanting to drive my truck all the time.lol Oh also the parts list so far is.

AFE stage 2 CAI
under drive pullys
Diablo Programmer
BBK Shorties
Gibson Extreme Duals/ I might do dumps
swapping rear ends with a big horn.
And a 2/4 drop.

But the question is should I wait on the cam to do it right. For fear of breaking some stuff. And what kind of benfit will the cut outs do. Oh and everything but the exhaust will be done by me. To save money on labor. Thanks again.

Do it right or don't do it at all, especially when it comes to internal engine stuff. As for cut-outs, their chief benefit is irritating people that don't like loud exhausts (i.e. cops, old neighbors, etc.) They also eliminate back pressure and work toward killing your low end torque while boosting top end power.

I'd wait to do the cams until you can get it all done and then get a custom map made...most of the power at that point is in a proper fuel map anyway.

My E-Cutout is LOUD...be prepared.

Ft Bragg MPs will give you a ticket for using a E-Cutout in/or around housing and or barricks. The only people worst than Marine PMO are FT Bragg MPs

Do the cam. I'd love to see a dyno done of an exhaust system before a cutout, then with one installed and it being closed. Seems like a point of turbulence having that short corked Y there.

do the cam with the 6.1 exhaust springs and 6.1 pushrods (they are cheap)...cutouts are bad ass...but don't really help with performance as much as one would think..
