Default catch can install

Just got my catch can in the mail and am having a bit of trouble with the install. Fairly embarassing but... i cant get the existing PCV tube off. Not sure if i need to cut it off or just pull like hell but moderate force has not done the trick so far. Any advice?

It should come right off . I haven't been under the hood of a new Ram yet . Just by chance does it have a piece of plastic heat shrunk on the end of the hose . I'm starting to see this instead of hose clamps . I'm not sure if your truck has this but thats the only thing that could come to my mind why you can't get it off . Any pics would help .

plastic heat shrink on the throttle body end and what appears to be just a rubber connector on the engine end. I cant get either off though. Ill try posting pics this afternoon.

I'm starting to see them doing away with regular clamps and install this heat shrink looking stuff . Their putting this on radiator hoses on the forklifts I work on . What I do is cut it with a razor knife , then install a clamp . Just remember to cut it carefully or you'll cut right through the heat shrink and damage the hose . It's worked so far for me . No issues .
