If I were to encounter an engine with a tuner than needed a warranty repair, I wouldn't void the warranty unless I knew for a fact the tuner caused the failure. Unfortunately, I can only speak for myself and not other techs or dealerships.

Got to agree, I installed my own side bars and just want to let you know that I needed a special tool to install the rivnuts properly. There are holes already on the truck they just don't have the rivnuts installed. Oh and welcome the the RAMz forum.

If you have an impact, you don't need the rivnut tool.

Ya I can see after installing them that an impact tool would have done the job and been quicker. I was just throwing that out there since not everyone has an impact and the rivnut tool did not come with the Mopar side bars that I installed.

I don't know what the deal is with that. Some of the one's I've installed didn't have them either for some reason but some do. The "tool" is really nothing more than a 8mm x 1.25 - 30 bolt with a spacer about 15mm thick and a flat washer that sits between the spacer and bolt head.

I hear you, I did not find out until I got home with them that the tool was not included (talk about cheap). After dropping 20 bucks for the tool I realized I could have made my own but at the time I just wanted to get them installed. Don't mean to thread jack here the original post is asking about warranty issues related to add ons.

I call TOTAL BS on that!

Dealer's can't blanket void your warranty just because you added some things to it.

What they aren't obligated to do is warranty a part that fails because of a mod you did.

TOTAL BS!

Hey RansRam, I noticed in your list of mods you have theft deterrent valve caps. What do they look like, any pics? I haven't heard of those before.
