Default progress so far on my 96

i pulled out the carpet while waiting for my parts to get to here, it was really in bad shape. i used a do it yourself bedliner kit from Rust-Oleum, it took like three days to do, i removed all of that rubber mat crap, then sanded all rust off, then primer ed, then rolled and painted 5 coats on the foor, it took a week for the smell to die down, but hey that smells better than that old musty cig smell. i also added extra heat shield on the cab around the trans and exhaust pipes, it was what they call turbo hood shield, wasnt the easiest stuff to use.

i have more pics to upload this weekend.

Nice work. That will definitely help keep the heat and noise down in the truck.

You can dye the material on your steering wheel to refurbish it if ya want. It's amazing what the little touches will do to make a vehicle look new!

yeah its coming along nicely. i had a major issue getting the spiral locks installed into the pistons, but once i got the trick figured out, it fast. i will tell you if you buy KB pistons, that have the valve reliefs, the install info you get from KB is wrong, the Valve Reliefs are not two different sizes, just make sure they to the top and the dot on the rod is facing the front the motor.
