Default 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 brake controller connector

under the dash of of my 2004 dodge 2500 I have the blue connector to plug in my brake controller...I am having some issues and I am wanting to make sure that it is wired correctly.

the connector under the dash has White/Red, Green , White, and Black
which is Ground, Power, Trailer Brakes....and what is the fourth

I have no blown fuses...check 1 and 19 and no power LED on the controller..

I have a tekonsha envoy with the tekonsha adapter the wires are Black,Blue,Red, and White.I have the tekonsha wiring harness that is also black,Blue,Red, and white...and I have it wired Black-black,White-white,Red-red,Blue-Blue. if I jump the blue wire straight to ground...I get the green light and when I use the slide it turns to red. but no power on red when I step on the brake...any ideas....

is something wired backwards in my connection to the under dash connect...

thanks

I have done some more troubleshooting. Everything is wired correctly to the under dash connection. but when I step on the brakes the red wire should become energized, it does not...so I am guessing there is a short somewhere or the switch on the brake is bad...however all lights work correctly. any one have any ideas?

You are on the right track. I also had an 04 HD and ran into the same issue. A local U-Haul installed my Prodigy and had to troubleshoot. It turns out that if you don't have the factory tow package one of the wires will not be connected through the blue connector and you must run a separate wire back to the pin; it's been 6 years since I had that truck and do not remember which one it is (the green wire, I believe). If you have the factory package it may still be the same issue. It took the store about an hour to find the problem.
