Default Ticking/Clicking sound

My new truck makes a ticking/clicking sound when its idling. Its not loud but its noticable. Is this normal or is it suppose to be quite? I took it back to the dealer and their answer was its a HEMI thats what they sound like. I said I own a Challenger with a HEMI and it doesnt make that sound. He then said let me check again lol. Then he came back and said if it get any louder bring it back in. So does your HEMI make a clicking sound?

I am not a professional, this is just what I have read on here before. I have heard there is an infamous "Hemi" tick. We also own the Challenger Hemi and I haven't heard it there before, but my previous Rams had that tick. Hang tight and someone else will be along to offer their advice as well. Best of luck.

Sounds like the infamous HEMI tick. I just did my first oil change and now when I first start up I hear it. Once it's all warmed up I don't hear it anymore. From the reading I have done it's not a problem, check out this thread on the subject, http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread....ight=hemi+tick

If your concerned you should get a second opinion from a good mechanic.

Not a problem. Just curious, do you hear it all the time or just sometimes ?

I hear it all the time when the truck is idling. But you have to be outside the cab to hear it. I guess Ill just have to upgrade the exhaust and that should fix that lol.
