Default Mygig lockpick v.3

I'm not much for promoting products, but I just installed the MYGIG LOCKPICK V.3 yesterday and am amazed at how much change a simple mod can make. My RER radio now has full-time access (yes, while in drive) to navigation input, DVD, Sirius TV, FloTV, and the rear camera. I had to go for a ride last night to test every function. (well, the wife was a good co-pilot, gotta be safe) You can get it at:
http://www.coastaletech.com/MYGIG.htm
They even included a surprise Scooby snack in the box!

Try it!
Jim

Jim was it hard to install? Do you have to take out the radio in order to do it?

Any help in that area would be a great help.

Thanks!!

Tim,
It was pretty easy. This link shows where the screws are:

2009_Dodge_Ram_Radio_Removal.pdf

I have the bench seat configuration with a column shift. The top trim and 115v outlet screws (T20) were the only three I needed to remove to pop the panel off. Maneuvering it around the column shift was a little tricky. The radio then comes out after taking off four 7mm screws. The Lockpick is plug and play and they send a pretty good instruction guide to make sure you set the dip switches right.

I ran the Lockpick box cable through a gap to the floor of the drivers side and plugged the box in there so I have easy access for any future updates. It then tucks easily behind the center console without interfering with the fold down cup holders.

Remember to disconnect the battery. Coastal E Tech sent a comp. update disc for the radio but since my truck is new, the version was the same.

I hope this helps!
Jim

One more thing: The install intructions had an area that covered factory rear cameras that confused me. It lead me to believe I had to run a power cable all the way back to the camera for it to integrate properly. I ignored this thinking I'd do it later. By just doing the basic install, my camera works fine. Comes on automatically in reverse, and I can toggle it on/off while driving using the Uconnect button and the power button (RER radio).

Default Considering this

Hey
Just got a Ram Laramie, it's awesome! I have the RER radio, in the demo for the lockpick, he said his uconnect was not operational on his radio. I have uconnect on mine and use it, do you know if it will still work? I am considering this lockpick device and don't want to get burned.

Thanks

My RER uconnect still works just fine. If you have the rear camera, it'll work just fine too, disregard any instructions about installing wires back to the camera... just install the box. Double-tapping the uconnect button displays the rear camera any time in any gear.

I like it alot, but you may still want to check out the Allgig some members here use.

Happy Moding! Jim

if you have the rear camera from the factory it should be ok. the only reason for that power wire i thought was to enable it to turn on any time while driving, but you seem to be able to do that now, so why bother with it lol

Remember the Motto:

"It's only illegal, if you get caught!"

(It will not void the warranty, it does not modify any factory part. Remove it and all functionality will go back to stock)
