Default A ridiculous question

I don't know what compells me to ask ridiculous questions but here I go, I can't stop. Has anyone ever considered turbocharging a 5.9 gas?

Hells Yeah! I'm all for boost. A guy in town here locally was doing custom rear mounted turbos sort of like the squires turbo systems (but they were one off). I was gonna do it but felt like it was the easy way out. I have plenty of room to work on under the hood to stuff a turbo there. I'm prolly gonna do a centrifugal supercharger though (pro charger) instead though.

I'm not that mechanically inclined but I'm a fast learner. How much work you figure it would be to undertake a project like installing a turbo? When I say I'm not that mechanically inclined I mean I only have done minor work, brake jobs, tune ups, that stuff.

It would take some advanced skills but any experienced shop should be able to match an appropriately sized turbo for your application. It would be more cost effective to just do a supercharger kit that has all the components properly matched for your application.
