Default Installed Volant CAI in 04 4.7l

Came home to a bunch of goodies today and decided to tackle the CAI first.
Install was pretty simple took maybe half an hour. I was happy with the install until i hooked up the hose that came with the box. Instead of sending a full length piece of hose they send me about 5 inches and a adapter. IMO for the price i paid for this i should have gotten at least a full rubber hose. That aside it sounds nice but i was expecting a little more out of it. I did not take the neg off of the battery. Not sure if that really makes a difference? sorry for the bad pics i was in a rush.

Looks good Not sure what you meant by 5" piece of hose, maybe I just can't see it in the pics.

That is what Volant sent me. I replaced it with a one foot piece.

Yeah, I had the same thing with my Volant. I didn't use the adapter, just bought a longer piece. Still need to paint it as it's a bright orange hose (only thing I could find with the ID that matched). You'll like the sound of it when you start climbing hills and lay into it a little. As soon as I take care of my little vandalism issue, I plan on installing headers and a full exhaust system to "enhance" the CAI completing the circle! Looks good!

Im right there with you. I was expecting too much out of the CAI, exhaust, and the programmer. Only thing left is headers and cams.
