Default Engine Turns Over For Too Long

Indy was in storage for 6 years and now turns over for 5-10 seconds before starting but otherwise runs great with 135000 miles.

You'll need to perform a spark and fuel pressure test to confirm whats going on .

Or was the gas in the tank for 6 years also. Kinda thinkin your battery could be low as well.

I added fuel preserver in the tank and started it occasionally.

I replaced the battery.

I agree with Tom and I would also drain the tank and add new fuel. After 6 years it could still be bad even with a gas additive.

How does one go about draining the tank?

It started tonight after about 5 seconds, I drove it 20 miles, parked it for two hours, it started again after about 5 seconds and ran flawlessly on the drive home.

If your tank is 1/2 or less, fill it with fresh fuel and drive it until it's time to fill up again. If the tank is full, drive it for at least 1/2 tank then fill as above. Either way, carry a cell phone with AAA on speed dial.

If after the fuel is fresh the problem is still there, I'd place bets on fuel pressure and/or fuel check valve.

6 years is a long time. Expect a few other things to rear their ugly head....like seals.
