Myself I get agravated with that tapping noise, I tried marvel, fresh oil change. My engine only has 80,000 miles. It sees to me it must be a low oil flow to one of the lifter rods or defect in oil port molding process casting of the engine. I'd really would also like a straight answer from a Dodge engineer. I hear too many complaints. I had trucks with 250,000 miles and had solid sounding engines with out a tick, click or smoke.
HMMMMM? Let me know if you get the correct fix? Thanks, I'm in the same boat! Have a good week end!
