I have a 2500 4x4 SB Big Horn w 6.7 cummins 6 speed auto w242 rearend. I have been towing an Excel RT 26TRW that weighs 9,520 loaded. I always start out of my drive in 1st gear by just pushing the +/- on the shifter and pushing the tow/haul and exhaust brake. I use 1st as I live in Branson,Mo and the Ozark mountains are very steep in our resort. Once I get to the road I use the + to move to 5th and that is the way the truck likes to tow. Do not leave it in 6th even in Tow/haul as the transmission will get hot. This has worked well for me since March when we got the truck.
I have a question
; With my highspeed rearend I am limited to 9,750 lb towing. Is this the max in stone limit for this truck without causing problems?
