Default Ram 1996, Cant start, help.

Hi all,

I had my 96 Ram parked for about six, months and then decided to put it back on the road.

After driving it for a while it started to develope a problem starting. Basically from cold or first start of the day it would take about 5 to 8 swings to get it to start, then for the rest of the day it would start first time every time.
Unfortunately this deteriorated to point now where I cant get it to start at all.

I read up and determined it was the check valve in the fuel pump module, maybe it was stuck and preventing ful from reaching the fuel rail so i dropped the tank and took out the pump assembly checked it and tested it, all was fine. I Check the fuel at the rail and it was squirting out beautiful.

At this stage I realised that when turning on the ignition there was no "Engine check " light illuminated. So I called in a friend who has a scan tool.
The scan tool was reading, "No communication" which is strange.

So does anyone have any advise please.

You need to determine why there is no PCM communication. Start by checking all the fuses.

I did that, and all were fine, i even switched around the ASD relay. My friend who had the scan tool said, that he thought it might be the computer gone down, which i hope it isnt. Any more advice would be appreciated.
