Default Nav System RER

Hey Forumittes,

New to the Nav system.
I noticed my Nav needs updating and I went to the site navteq.com as that is what my Nav suggested. They want $200.00 to update my Nav. Does anyone know a cheaper route (pun intended) to take or advice on how to do this. Thanks

I don't have a NAV system but I would call the dealer and ask if they can do the up date for free.

I have a 2009 and just got a DVD in the mail from Chrysler to "update" my NAV. On the cover it says "Insert disc to get unlock code to update your navigation." Somehow it wants $200 to do this.....what do I get for $200?

I've passed on the updates for my REC NAV units in the car and truck. Just can't seem to justify that $200 charge for updated maps every year.

Unless you're a realtor or someone like that, that needs constantly updated maps, there is no need to pay the fee for the update.

for a couple new roads every year its just not worth it
at the dealership you will see a flyer near the customer lounge the parts dept.
it reads something about some new roads & thousands of points of interest,
i'll wait for a few more years before updating

software is supplied by Navteq & i believe they are the ones with the satellites

a few sites claim that they have code crackers to unlock it, but ....
