Might have to go look at a magnaflow system with new headers and the Electric cut outs. Sounds like i may be talking to the local exhaust shop to see the cost. Have a feeling the cutouts are a little above my abilities.

Do all Hemis come with MDS as standard? I can't really ever tell if it kicks in. Is there a way to know?

Your truck should have MDS unless it's a MegaCab.

You may not have an indicator light on your dash that tells you it's on but if you hit the freeway, are in OD and cruise at a steady speed, you may notice a slight change in exhaust tone when it slips into MDS.

I've never owned an MDS equipped vehicle so my experience with it is nil. However, there are plenty of folks here who have them and hopefully they can chime in on how they know MDS has kicked in.

Good luck with the mods.

My truck is the second mds Hemi I've owned, the first one being a Magnum R/T. The only way I have been able to tell when the MDS has activated, in my Ram, and in the Magnum, was by exhaust tone.
I hear it more in my Ram, guessing its because of the Borla cat back exhaust. My magnum had stock exhaust, but could still hear a slight change in exhaust tone.

Thanks guys. Listening yesterday on the way home (now that I became intrigued), I set cruise on the highway at 70 and tried to hear. I noticed a definite change in the CAI from a rumble when accelerating to more of a low gurgle when cruising on the flats, heading down declines, etc. I'm betting that's the MDS kicking in?

Well, now that i have an idea of what to do with the truck from everyone, it's time to find a good exhaust shop and see what their price is versus buying parts online and doing it myself! I'll let everyone know how it goes. Hopefully a nice work bonus this month will help out too and i can add more!

Tomorrow she gets debadged all around except for the grille and tail gate Rams. i like the clean look i see up here especially on the color matched sport model trucks. I'll take some pics!

CdnoilRam, your grille is fricken amazing!!! and Chefred, I see in the one video your tow/haul is on, what does that do for your take off? just better traction or what? As far as exhaust, mines a single straight pipe on my bee. Im prolly losing a lil back pressure and maybe power but it sounds fricken mean!!!!!

the thing is with me (for personal preference), I try not to use 2nd prime when at all possible.. so if I want to downshift from overdrive I tend to put it in tow/haul and let it shift itself an then hit it. Plus, with tow/haul on, it holds the shifts long so i don't worry when I nail it that it will suddenly shift to the next gear...
