Default Passenger Airbag On/Off Switch

After reviewing my service manuals and evaluating my 2003 Dodge Ram Quad Cab wiring harness, I decided that, if I bought a Passenger Airbag On/Off Switch that it would plug into the wiring harness and be capable of disabling the Passenger Airbag (as in the 2003 Standard Cabs). I disconnected the battery, installed the switch, reconnected the battery. I had no power to the switch so I checked all the fuses, which are all good. I'm beginning to think that there's computer programming or some physical circuitry keeping me from utilizing the switch. I have 4 kids now, so I really need to be able to turn off the passenger airbag. If anyone has any insight, please let me know. Thank you.

Default

As far as I know there shouldn't be any voltage TO the bag's activation switch until the impact speed sensor registers an impact force.

Default Did it work?

Need my passenger airbag disabled aswell. So im a bit curious about this thread. Can i just buy switch (5KF58DX9AC) and plug it in?
Hard to find answer on this matter, local dealer says it can be done, his employees at the shops says no.... Wiring diagrams seems the same for all models, so plug for the switch should be there right?
