Default 2004 Ram 1500 - Code 67

Hi everyone, I am new to the forum and not much of a mechanic, so thought someone here may be able to help with my problem.

I pulled into the driveway the other day, turned off the engine, removed the key and left the vehicle. But I heard something running, sounded like the Air Conditioner compressor, but it was the ABS pump. I pulled the fuse and brought it into the shop. They scanned and came up with "Code 67 Pump Motor Circuit Open". I don't recall slamming on the brakes.

So they said to bring it in and they would have to trouble shoot the electrical first, 2-3 hrs of shop time, then most likely replace the ABS pump...$1,800 +... Ouch !

So I turn to this forum, anyone have any similiar experience with this problem?

Thanks...JJ15

Welcome to the forum.

Sorry to hear you are having a problem. I have no experience with this issue but I'm sure someone will chime in here who has.

I'd have to look into that one a little more before getting off that kind of money . besides you truck should be fine with it disconnected . Your truck will still operate fine on the standard brake system .

It will still operate fine, you just won't have ABS and if it's like my Ram, it's only for the rear anyways and not four wheel so I really dont see any problems with that. If it is in fact the ABS pump, I would hit up a junk yard and pull one, it would save you a ton of money.

2-3 hours to diag? I'd look for a different shop.
