well, i call the dealer with my info and there are no recalls for mine.

this morning it was raining and the wipers were acting all retarded. they worked randomly no matter what i set them to. it's now dry out and they are acting just fine. I did notice that it looks like something got spilled on the stalk. so i'm gonna try some contact cleaner and a can of that compressed air for electronics.

any way to bypass the rain sensor? i tried holding my finger over it but that made no difference.

Hey guys, im a newbie on here but i do work at a dodge dealership since 98 and i have an 04 offroad that has this same problem and i have replaced the switch in it and it did not fix it. I have been in contact with Chryslers tech. support about the problem and they have told me that the front control module is what is causing it. For those of you that are not familiar with how that all works, All the switch does is send a request to the FCM and the FCM then controls the wipers. There is only 5 volts going to the switch on the column. The FCM also controls the lights and it also has internal relays and fuses that are not serviceable. Unfortunately i have not had time to get back to my truck and find out if that is the problem with it. I will try and keep this updated when i get to diagnose it more.

please do keep us updated. this is an annoying safety issue.

i have been suspecting that my rapid right hand turn signal is part of this problem as well. it starts off normal for a few blinks then goes to rapid blinking, like a bulb is out, but none are out.

Ok guys, sorry about not getting back to you. Ive been kinda busy at work and havent got to my truck much but what i have found is that if you know anyone that can get a hold of a drb or scantool that can get into the Front Control Module and check for codes. Mine finally threw a code for wiper park switch sense performance. I had the DRB 3 (Chryslers scantool) hooked to my truck tonight and found that the park switch input to the Front Control Module was staying open while the wipers where on. I have to get back to chryslers IT people for sure but i think its down to either the wiper motor or a ground on the park switch sense circuit. I will try and let you know what they say by the end of the week.

Brutus, make sure you have the right bulbs in everything they are very sensitive to that.

Have you checked any of the bulbs cause i have seen where they will still work but yet they have to much resistance in them that will cause that. From past experience that system is very sensitive, almost way to sensitive. Like crazy insanely stupid. Pull the bulbs out of the rear taillights and the two turn signals up front and look for any discoloration in the bulbs, if all look ok i would check the resistance in the rear circuit boards. If you have access to a drb 3 from someone at the dealer you can have them run the codes in the Front Control Module, it may even tell you what bulb or narrow down the problem. I have also seen where the trailer wiring caused this concern.
