Hey... Great ideas all, but where are the pics he wanted to see?

I agree with Link that powder coating is probably the best way to go. They will stay and not chip off with high pressure water spray or small road debris... They will chip though if you run up on a curb or something.

Good responses all! Post pics please.

I tried it and was not happy at all. I got some for my rims but decided to test it on the bighorn emblem I had removed first. I followed the instructions exactly but didnt have much luck. It was very splotchy for the first few coats and by the time i got even coverage it was so dark it looked almost like gloss black. After that I decided to give it one more chance on a flat surface and since i was planning on blacking out the trim ring around my shifter I tried it on that, same results. I ended up using glass black on it and using the kits clear coat for a final coat. I still plan on painting my rims but will most likely use duplicolor standard rim paint and not go for the chrome stuff. Ill see if I can find the bighorn emblem and get a picture but I think I trashed it.

I thought about the "Powder Coat" route but.... The RT came with quality Plastic covers for the rims so i dont think they can be Powder Coated without melting I might just wait till the winter and prep them and have them painted and cleared

thanks for the headsup/input.. I was thinking of trying it on some chrome myself before attempting to do clad wheels. Would you think holding the spray can a lil farther to just get light mist of coats would of helped? thanks.. Im planning to give it a shot also

Not sure, I tried from the distance the instructions said, and a little further but had no luck. I think I will try again today or tommorow with my rear rams heads emblem, worse case Im going gloss black with it so it cant hurt to try the shadow stuff, ill get some pics and post here.
