it doesnt go away after warm up tho when im driving you dont hear it but my flowmaster might be covering the noise. when u sit in a drive thru or a stop light etc u still hear the ticking noise.. i took it to the corner shop the guy does alot of jeeps and when i started the truck he told me to bring it up to 2000 rpm and he told me its my rod bearing going out.
idk if i should trust what he said because he also told me a new engine will run around 8k when i called around and found one installed with a 3 year warrenty for 2800. and i dont want to take it into the shop and pay to have them look at it and tell me it needs a new motor. you know?

A bad rod bearing is easily found by performing a cylinder kill test.

yea my truck went to the shop friday they pulled the valve covers and my lifters are done my cam flattened out they pulled the oil pan handful of metal shavings my crank is tweaked haha so we had them bolt it all back up and it should be getting a new motor in a couple weeks if my funds are right. then ditching the lift kit and going back to it lowered for better gas milage or maybe selling it after its fixed

I'd check the exhaust manifold. I just had to get a bolt drilled and tapped on mine.
