Default Exhaust drone ?

I have the 2010 ram hemi with the factory dual exhaust exiting out of the rear.

My question is how bad the drone is if I went with the 14 or 18 inch magnaflow or with the super 44 or 50 series HD?

Is the drone something that can be drowned out with a little volume from the radio or is it something you have to yell over to the other people in the truck?

Any help is appreciated.

From what I understand, the drone that annoys people is when MDS kicks in. Keeping the resonators on should help, but you could always disable the MDS with a programmer if it's too unbearable.

You can keep the MDS from kicking in by pressing the tow/haul button so the tow/haul light is on.

Sorry I forgot to mention I do a lot of highway driving so I want to keep my MDS. Im getting 21 to 23 mpg on the highway and that is too good to disable it. I also plan to keep all the resonators, I would just be replacing the muffler.

So can anyone tell me how bad the MDS drone would be if I left all the resonators and just changed the muffler to one of the above mufflers?

Any help is appreciated. I want to keep the MDS.

Here is a vid of mine. I have the 50 Series HD with dual 3" side exits in front of the passenger rear tire and no resonator. Yes, you can hear the drone, but its all part of having exhaust IMO. At about 43 seconds you can hear the drone kick in, then again at about 1:30. Hope this helps.

I have the 18 inch mufflex and I can barely hear it on a flat highway at speed. The only time the drone really bothers me is when I have cruise control on and I am going up hill and the transmission won't downshift. This is easily fixed by pressing the gas pedal or hitting the tow/haul button until I am up the hill.

It sounds great btw, much better than the stock muffler.
