What does he have? Most programmers are VIN locked, meaning you can only use them on one vehicle at a time. If you want to try it, your buddy has to download his stock tune from the tool and re-install it on his truck.

Then you can try it on your truck, as long as it's compatible.

If it's the Predator programmer from DiabloSport, it will not work on your truck. The car tool is different from the truck tool.
