Question Changed plugs..questionable results..help

Hey guys... I have not been on here in ages and I had forgotten all my info so I had to register again.

Yesterday I changed the plugs in the HEMI. When removing one of the coil packs the boot slipped off and stayed on the motor attached to the plug. I was able to remove it eventually and didnt harm the boot. I simply slid it back onto the coil pack and went on but I also noticed a phillips screw just inside the nipple where the boot slips on. Is the spring meant to be attached to that screw? I am just curious if these are meant to be removable from the coil pack or if I actually tore it loose and should not have? Since I finished the plugs it does seem to have smoother acceleration but the idle seems to be a tad bit rougher than it used to be. All plugs were gapped at .045 and they are all the oem champion copper plug. Plugs that were removed were the OEM and I had put 49k on them. Some were worn but not too bad others looked fine. The main thing I noticed on the old plugs were that several were out of gap a tad. I kind of think this may all be in my head and I am just paranoid. I do not have any CEL or anything and it starts runs and drives fine. If the one plug in that one cylinder was not firing or firing correctly would I get a CEL?
