Question 32 Gallon Gas Tank

I have the 32 Gallon Gas Tank on my truck or I thought I did. It's on the invoce so I assumed I had it.

Yesterday I filled up and I let the truck get to 30 miles left on the tank. I get done refilling and it was 25.5 gallons. I knew it was full since I had a little gas spill out.

Am I missing something here?

Hmm, window sticker says I have the 32 too but haven't let it get empty enough to find out. Guess I'll have to keep an eye on it.

You say its on your invoice, do you mean window sticker? Drop by the dealer and see what they have to say. If its the stock 26 gal tank, I'd say someone owes you some $$ if you paid for the 32, or a 32 gal tank.

Yes the window sticker. I'll stop by but I don't feel like put it back to stock tune yet. Just got the Magnaflow installed today.

A friend of mine has it, he said there is a flaw, with something to do with it swishing when braking ?? not sure, anyone else with 32 gallon, has run into this ?

Ive got the 32, it is a large tank. When its 3/4 full the gas sloshes around and you get the sensation that you have been rear-ended (bumped). Its not horrible but definetly noticeable. The most I have put in my tank is 22 gallons, but thats because I dont like running too empty. Some internal baffles would have been great.

Sounds like you have the 32 gallon tank because there is a buffer in the miles count down. Dodge doesn't want anyone running out of gas. I have the 26 gallon tank and could only put 22-23 gallons in it the other day when the EVIC showed 40 something miles to empty.

I'll take a look tonight when I get home and see.

I'd be willing to bet you have the 32 gallon tank as well. If you put 25.5 gallons of gas in a 26 gallon tank(or what you think is a 26 gallon tank) when your EVIC is saying you have 30 DTE? That means your EVIC is telling you your truck gets 60 miles a gallon!! That DTE is almost always a very conservative number for a reason, most people like to push it so as someone stated above Dodge probably doesn't enjoy the thought of a Ram on the side of the road cuz' it ran out of gas!

Just looked at the tank but it doesn't say what the capacity is but it's about 5ft long. So I'm assuming it's the 32 gallon. The part number is on there if anybody knows what the 32 is I can compare.

if your window sticker reads 32 gallon, thats likely what you have

go to your dealerships parts dept. take your trucks serial number, or VIN #
they will give you a complete print out, as it was sold to you
