i prefer running ethanol free 91 octane gas. since winter came around my gas mileage has taken a bit of a dump so i started running 87 octane gas. i buy all my gas at shell so i get air miles. ever 95 air miles and i get $10 off gas.

Default Fuel and mpg

I've used 87 octane since new in our 2012 Ram. I usually get fuel at Pioneer or Canadian Tire. Gas prices here are $1.30/l ($5.90/gallon). I've had 24 mpg on the first tank, a couple of 23 mpg and then slowly started to use more fuel. Average from September 20 2012 to December 23 2012 is 20.1 mpg. January 2013 15.9 mpg. February 2013 15.2 mpg. Winter driving letting the truck warm up to long hurt fuel consumption a lot. Now that it is getting warmer it may improve. We also drive on cruise all the time at about 90-92 kph and most driving is 30 miles one way and on highways.

Default 87 to 93 and back to 87

I tried several consecutive tanks of 93 and actually felt softer under hard acceleration. So I want back to 87. I suppose without any mods the factory tunes at 87 so it just feels better, for now HEHEHEHEHE!

I have only filed my new (to me) truck up twice so far. I know the book says 87 - 89. I just grab the 87 pump like I have been for the last 7 years with my old ram, out of habit.
I have not had any pinging or issues. I am getting 17.8 mpg mixed driving, mainly open road. I guess I will have to try a tank of 89 and see how she runs?

I always put 89 in it. They say its preferred in the manual and I have found that my Hemi runs a little bit better with it in there. Eventually I am going to get a 93 tune for it

I run 93 octane gas with 91 custom tune. Works best for me.

I have the 5.7 Hemi and a 4x4 in my 2013. On my daily commute of 32 miles I average 20.4 MPG with 89 octane. when i got the truck from the dealer in Feb. they put 87 and i was only getting 17.5-9 same driving style same commute, traffic etc. once i switched to 89 the truck ran so much smoother and I saw (my wallet did too) more economy. Then i recently took a 1600 mile trip home and i averaged 24.4 MPG with 89 until i got home and then the mid grade was 88, i didnt drive my truck till i left again and for that first leg of my trip back i only got ~22. but once i filled back up with 89 it shot back up. So smoother idle and drive, better fuel economy I would say is worth .10 cents more

Says in my Manual to use 89 or better with a Hemi.
I recommend Chevron or Sunoco back east in Canada - or Chevron in the USA.
Esso and Shell are the same fuel and in my opinion the worst fuel you can buy. Costco and Canadian tire use Esso gas. I have proven over and over when using a better gas I get better mileage. In regards to grade - depends on what car you have. Minivans don't care what fuel. Mustangs higher grades.. I am new to my Sport but I will keep track of it. I just put in 94 liters tonight of 89 Chevron in USA. We will see.
