I run Shell 89 Oct. in mine ( Hemi ). The manual calls for it and I guess Dodge knows more about what it was built for than me. I only have about 1200 miles so far and I'm getting between 14.5 and 16 mpg around town and some interstate.

Default What Octane R U using?

Just curious what Octane and fuel brand other fellow Ram drivers are using, and does it get you guys better performance or fuel mileage?
On my previous 07, I used 87 octane and had zero problems. I want to keep my new one for at least 7 years and want it to run great from here on out. I also tow a boat if anyone has any suggestions on what I should be running.

I use 89 octane, except when i am in an area where the gas prices are too high. At those times i put just enough gas to get me where prices are cheaper.
I gas up just before driving into Canada & limit my driving while up there. Every once in a while i drive up to Sudbury Ontario & i usually have to buy enough 87 octane to get back to New York, or even better Pennsylvania

Default 89 Octane

I typically run 89 Octane, but sometimes will run 91-93 if it is cheap - I've put in some 87 when the prices were just insane, but only one tank!

As I understand it too, here in Oklahoma we are lucky because quite a few stations have 100% gas pumps, although I'm not sure what that'd do for an engine tuned for Ethanol (I imagine it won't hurt, but it may not help much either)

I started off running 89 Shell or Exxon only for many moths following purchase.

On a recent out-o-state trip, I accidently filled up [29.8 gallons] with 87 Shell. Didn't realise it until I looked at the printed reciept. I wasn't too concerned and was waiting for less economy, some noises at idel with a not-as-smooth idle and whatnot.

I got pretty much identical MPG, no noticeable power loss/gain across the bandwidth, no noises at idle out of the ordinary.... nothing.

I now fill up with 87 octane every third fill, with 89 the other times. I do throw in a can of Seafoam every forth fill [app. once every two months or so] under 89 octane rating. It's something I've been doing for almost ten years.... habitual.
