Default Just purchased a 2010 Ram Quad ST 1500

I LOVE this truck. It drives so nice. Had the dealer install the chrome steps, remote start, auto dim mirror and next week installing the window rain guards.

A couple questions and sorry in advance if these have been asked 5000 times in here.

When I start it up, I see low tire cycle through the dash display, then goes to temp which is what I have it set on. I've checked all tires, all are at 41ish.

What does the TOW/HAUL do? The instruction manual blows and basically covers EVERYTHING I didn't get on the truck. I have a 20 ft, 3200 pound camper and I just pulled it last night without using the tow/haul option and it pulled it like there wasn't anything behind me. I have the 4.7 V8.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new truck.

When the vehicle is turned on, the computer self tests and cycles through all functions. That's why you see the low tire indicator.

Tow/Haul works like this:

When driving in hilly areas, towing a trailer, carrying a heavy load, etc., and frequent transmission shifting occurs, press the Tow Haul O/D off button to select TOW HAUL. This will improve performance and reduce the potential for transmission overheating or failure due to excessive shifting.

When operating in TOW HAUL mod, 5th gear (if equipped) is disabled and 2-3 and 3-4 shift patterns are modified. Shifts into Overdrive (4th gear) are allowed during steady cruise for improved fuel economy and automatic closed throttle downshifts to 3rd gear are performed when driving conditions warrant. Pressing the TOW HAUL O/D OFF button a second time to select O/S OFF will disable 4th and 5th gear completely.

Thanks! So I don't have to worry about the tires, excellent. I was hoping I would hear "self test" So with the TOW/HAUL option, my typical drive to the campgrounds we stay at is all interstate with a few dips here and there but mostly flat. Should I always tow with that on or leave it off with this type of route?

One thing I forgot to ask before was what is the reserve tank, 6 gallons? I'm going to drive it until my gas light turns on and fill er' up and see how many gallons it takes. I think the sticker said 28.

Thanks again
