Default Removing decals

I want to remove the 4x4, big horn, and ram decals on the sides and tailgate of my truck. Anyone done that? Is it easy or do you get it done professionally?

The most common method, if it is still held on with two way tape as most are, is to use floss. It is very easy. Just use some patience. Nice and slow and they come right off. You might still end up with some residual two way tape, then you can use just about any adhesive removal product to finish up the job! Best of luck.

I know the 2010 has an indentation on the tailgate where the Ram badge is. I'd love to find a badge that just has the Ram and not Dodge at the top.

Sorry all, I missed the "ram decal on the tailgate". I took it all to be 4 x 4 type decals. I stand corrected on the Ram one.

I just did this last weekend. Spent 3+ hours on the tailgate alone!!!!!!!!!!
The floss and fishing line trick never work for me, they always break.
Heat just makes the adhesive more gummy, but that said, it doesn't come off any easier when it is cold either.
I taped off the entire area around the emblems and used a plastic putty knife to get behind the emblem. You can actually split the double sided tape right down the middle from the emblem. It is nearly impossible to get the emblems off without leaving a sticky mess, so be prepared. The best you can hope for is that you leave most of the double sided tape, because then it will peel off in larger pieces. If you leave very little, be prepared to spend some time working at it. I used my thumbnail to get the corner started and then just kept working it (rolling it) toward the center... trying to pull off as large a piece as I could. You need to get all of the black tape off first, then use goo gone or gasoline to get the remaining adhesive off. I finished off with a clear coat polish/swirl remover, as you will have many fine scratches from your fingernail, then a coat of wax. It was hard work, but well worth it.
BTW, I painted the Ram emblem flat black and re-installed it for now. I plan to do the same for all the other RAM and HEMI emblems soon.
Good luck.
It's an easy, Free mod that just takes some time and effort.

i took off a few things on my truck that were held on with the 3M tape. carquest makes this tool called a "eraser wheel" that you put on the end of a drill and itll take off all the residual from 3M, pinstripes, and the little stickers that the dealer puts on the tailgate. i got one and it work very well. it runs for about $40 but i think its well worth it, saves you ALOT of time!
