Default My-GIG RBZ uconnect?

Ok, i'm so confused. I recently upgraded to a my-gig RBZ from the standard POS cd player unit. Does the RBZ have the uconnect built in and i just need the dealer to activate, or do i need to purchase extra stuff to get it to work? I have searched the web high and low, and i can't seem to find a direct answer to my question. Thanks for all your help, this forum is just awesome.

That's a really good question. My stereo is upgraded also, but not like yours, so I don't have an answer for you. I'll be watching this thread! Best of luck and let me see if I can't get someone on this for you!

From what I am able to tell from my research, you do need the add on uconnect brain as that is how the REN was and the RBZ replaces the REN. But this is just my educated guess.

This is a great source for mygig info: http://www.wkjeeps.com/wk_nav_2.htm

as well as the mygig forums - http://www.mofv.com/mygig/

When you press the uconnect button, what does it say?

If you did not install a mic for the uconnect, your system does not have uconnect in it. Unless of course you got it used and the person you got it from did not give you the whole kit.

Does it have the phone button on the front? If so and you did install a mic you may just have to get the dealer to flash computer in your Ram.

thanks for the help friends. it wasn't a huge deal, but if all i had to do was add a mic i would, but i'll just stick to using my bluetooth headset instead of dropping money that could be used for better mods.

Good info. My Ram has the factory installed RBZ so I thought the Uconnect came as part of it. Thanks.

I spent a lot of time researching the mygig before i did the retrofit of the RER mygig into my caliber, and these are two great places, so thought I'd share them, glad they are helpful!

There is also a part number list on that site that is very useful when buying used mygigs so you know if you are getting an old or new one or a low or high speed one as well.
