Default Switched to Amsoil!!

Good Evening everybody!

A good friend of mine who owns Horsepower Solutions in Hampton, VA has been a Amsoil dealer for quite some time now and I finally made the switch.

We loaded up the 4.7 with Signature Series 0W-30. Prior to switching over to synthetic, we ran the Amsoil engine flush.

After completing the oil change, my ride home was night and day difference!!! The engine had better response and felt stronger.

I'm not sure yet if I feel comfortable with going 25,000 miles without an oil change. I will keep an eye on her and see how she does

SIDE NOTE!!!!!
when changing the oil today, I noticed that my passenger front shock bolt had sheared off!!! holy crapI went to our local bolt shop and got the same size as the driver side! The bolt would only go in about an inch, I had an extra 2 inches. The bolt shop had closed so I went to lowes where I found a Grade 8 bolt that would work. I hope this fixes my problem!

Has anybody else had this issue???

Have a good one, Brandon

25k miles without an oil change!!??!!

Im one of those people who does NOT believe in the 3k mile intervals, but Id never push 25k. 10-12k (depending upon driving conditions) would be about the LIMIT, as thats what many have shown time and time again on oil analysis sheets as to the time when oil starts to breakdown beyond the norm.

Is that how long you went without one, or do you plan on going that long? Im sure its running alot smoother if its been 25k

Cool, glad to hear its working good for you. I have used Amsoil 0W20 exclusively in my 08 Dakota with a 4.7 and now in my HEMI Ram. Can definitely feel the difference.

Your truck doesn't call for 0W30 , does it ? If it doesn't keep an eye on the oil level . You may have a tendency to burn some oil (too light of a oil) . My SRT8 calls for 0W40 . I use 5W40 Amsoil . I have gone 20,000 miles then I do a changeout . Just remember to still change out your filter , if your not runnning the Amsoil filter . The broken shock bolt may have occured if you have a jammed up or bent shock . That too , keep an eye on .

Thats all I run in all my vehicles . I know someone that keep up with the oil by doing the oil Analysis and had the Amsoil filtration system and had over 100,000 miles on that oil . I've read storys of trucking companys changing over to Amsoil . At 600,000 miles they get torn down and rebuilt . One company tore down a 600,000 mile engine and saw mimimal wear . That couldn't believe it . These testimonies and my own experiences have made a believer out of me .

Since you do not believe in the 3000 mile oil change, may I ask how many vehicles you've put over 200k miles on?

I will not be waiting until 25k miles to change the oil although the signature series states it is good for 35,000 miles or one year. I will check it at 5,000 and see how it is doing (level, condition, etc).

Tom, My buddy which is the amsoil dealer, printed out a sheet provded from amsoil for my vehicle and it said 0w-30
