And you'd probably be faster than that.
Gas mileage would still suck, though. But...for a race truck...who cares about that...lol
I for got to mention I sold all the 440 stuff for $2,300 so I made $600, if I bought a set of high compression pistons for the 440 I would be out $600.
The 440 ran a 15.7 getting 9mpgs on thw way to the track. This LS1 beat the red camaro that runs 14.4....and the LS1 in my truck is still stock.
A good set of heads for the 440 (edelbrocks) are $1500. I can get a good set of LS6 heads for the LS1 for $450.
Going from a stock 440 to a stock LS1 drop my 1/4 times 1.4 sec and gave me 10mph in the 1/4 ,
The 440 was fun, but its not a good street motor like the LS1 is.
My camaro is a heads, cam, stall, LS motor running 10's N/A and still gets 22mpgs on the way to the track.
This is why My dodge has an LS1.
My buddy has a 440 Duster with big valved heads, high compression, gears, stall, cam, etc, runs 11.5.... and has to trailer it to the track.
