Smile More On CAI

I was very happy with my K&N CAI on my 2004 Hemi. I coupled that with true dual exhaust and a cortex chip. It hauled ass.

I was pretty sure I'd go with K&N again on my 2009 2wd Hemi. But I saw a pretty Mopar one on ebay. But it's about $200 more! Anyone know anything about the Mopar CAI? I like it because it says Mopar on it. I'm easily dazzled by pretty baubles... what is one getting with the additional $200 Mopar CAI compared with the K&N? The Mopar name?

Anyway, I'm hoping for a similar setup on my 09--CAI with true dual exhaust and fortunately the cortex is also compatable with the 2009. And it looks like there's plenty of room under there to do a true dual exhaust....

Thanks!

Thanks. After reading through the different possibilities in that thread, it sounds like starting in '09, the stock intake is pretty decent on the Hemi. As someone suggested, a K&N drop-in filter should be sufficient.

And then I'll turn my attention on getting true dual exhaust, which should be fairly easy. That and the cortex programmed for high octane, and it should be pretty snappy!

the 09/10's are in their infancy stage in terms of cai's, that's why your lulled into thinkin your setup is ok now...once they advance (like bfi and vararam did for the 3rd genners), yul laugh at your stock setup..

I hear you. I had no idea there were so many CAIs out there. I guess that's because after I put the K&N on the '04, I stopped looking for them. The BFI sounds really nice. At this point I have no idea what I'll end up putting in there.

I do know that the Mopar one looks really cool. I'd love to be able to lay my eyes on that every time I open the hood. But I have no idea if it performs well or not.

they totally re-engineered the intake for 09's an up so unless Bfi has made a new intake for it, won't work. But the design is simple enough that I can see Bfi an vararam adapt to it..
