Default Stereo question...

I just upgraded the speakers in my 2007 Ram 1500 Quad Cab to some Kickers that I picked up. The ones that work sound incredible. The issue I am having that the right front seems to periodically make a popping sound. There is no consistency to it and I have checked my factory wiring diagrams against the wiring job I did, they are all correct. Has anyone else run in to this sort of issue?

Speaker itself is possibly bad, you also might have something touching the cone sometimes. This one is har to diagnose w/o seeing/hearing it.

Does the crackle or pop happen with the door panel off?

Can you swap the right front with the left front. If the problem moves with the speaker,it`s bad.

I suppose it could be a bad speaker. I have tried swapping the two, and it only happens on the one. What a let down. Oh well, that is the fun of stereo equipment. Just wish this had happened with the door panel off, ya'know, before everything was put back together.

Ok, so I got the replacement speaker, and installed it on Saturday. Unfortunately I ran into the same problem. I went online and got 3 copies of the factory wiring diagram for my truck from 3 different sources... they all said the same thing. I verified that my wiring job matched the diagrams and sure enough, it did. I went through and re-checked all of my connections. All of them were right on the money. So here I am thinking "Jeez, what could be wrong?". I decided to swap the positive and negative wires on the passenger side and guess what... wait for it.... no more problems. Seems kind of strange that the polarity could be so far off from what the factory wiring diagram says.
