Default How good are the stock wheel locks?

Living in South Texas, wheel theft is a big problem. When I saw those good looking new 20" rims on my truck I knew they were asking to be stolen. I don't even want to know how much they cost to replace. I did notice that they came with some locking lug nuts from Dodge, but they look like they take a generic key. Would my key unlock all Dodge wheel locks? That would be bad.

If these things aren't good, can someone recommend a better set?

The keys aren't generic and there are quite a few combinations out there. Regardless of what kind of locks you use, your wheels can be stolen if someone wants them badly enough.

Worse case scenario is they tow the truck to steal the wheels and anything else. Lug locks are generally a slow down, never a true deterrent. As stated they can be stolen if wanted badly enough. Being the wheels are chrome clad they may not be as desirable as those high end ones out there.

A good sledge hammer and any wheel lock is gone. Dealer put them on mine but I don't see them doing more than slowing someone down.

Well then, I'm glad was able to cram the truck into the garage!

There are 3 inches to spare in the front, and three inches to spare in the back. Not to mention folding the mirrors in.

My dad says that a lock is there just to keep an honest man honest. Nothing is theft proof.

Occasionally at work someone will get them stuck on and lose the wheel lock key, torch, right off
hammer chisel-right off
They would slow someone down but not make it impossible.
However there are better wheels lock keys and lugs out there that are less common.

Yeah those work well to except when u have to use them for work cuz people lose there keys they break really easy after about 10 uses. Snap on doesnt like to warranty punches and anything that is destructive! (minus hammers)
