Default Dealership Adventure or Misadventure

Today i went into the Dealership for a check engine light being on.
I had a service done 1 week ago & I was surprised to see the check engine light come on. I knew the Ram had 30,000 miles on it & the air filter was dirty, so yesterday i picked up a WIX air filter & replaced the dirty filter, the engine light stayed on.
This morning i was at the dealership at 7:45 am & told them i would wait for them to fix it, no shuttle ride needed, at 11 am it was ready.
the paperwork reads:

18190602 Flash Powertrain Control Module
30995 PCM and TPM software updates. 955 5.7 MIL is on, found stored P0524 DTC (MDS OIL PRESSURE RATIONALITY) DTC is erroneous as set conditions are irrational. Found 2 TSBs for this condition, involving software updates to the TIPM an PCM for driveability and MDS improvements. Performed TSB 08-018-09 , and Flash Updated TIPM Software. Performed TSB 18-019-09 Flash Updated PCM Software. Road Tested Vehicle, MIL/DTC did not return.

Perform RRT 10-009 engine tick noise
cause POO
30 perform recall services
30995 RRT 10-009 955 5.7L unable to perform RRT 10-009 exhaust manifold stud replacement, parts on back order.

While i was there, a customer was also waiting on his 2009 Ram, he had been in a couple days before to get his ignition switch replaced, the little tab inside the switch had broken off & it wouldn't start. they had told him at that time that his truck was ready to go, he drove it home, only to find out they had done other things to the Ram & had not even looked at the ignition, he had it towed in this morning & again they did other work & didn't fix the ignition, a technician drove it up to the pick up line & told him that he should get it fixed because if it was shut off, he wouldn't be able to start it. The Customer blew his top, turned red, & i was sure blood was going to come out of every opening !!! He calmed down finally & then they told him that Chrysler would give him a rental from Enterprise, he told them that he could not conduct his business with a compact vehicle, they lied to him & told him that he could get a Chrysler that is almost like a station wagon & the back seats fold into the floor & would give him all the room that he needed, i say they lied to him because that particular rent a car place only uses fords. They would have to call around to the other places to get one delivered to them, so they could give him what he needs. I bet he blew his stack again when he found that out

Does not sound like a the guy had a fun day at the dealer.

I'm glad that you taken care of or at least have the parts on order. Make sure you check in about a week to find out the status on the parts. My dealer "ordered" some parts but surprisingly they never came in. When I checked, they hadn't ordered them.

I know that the bolt manufacturer likely turns out bolts in the hundreds of thousands each day & if Chrysler wanted them bad enough, they would have them all within a week, its only 2 bolts in each kit, how many 5.7 HEMIs did they sell in 2009 - 2010 that need the replacements? Someone dropped the ball.

I'd vote for a new dealer as well.
