Default Cat Lobotomy???

All this time, I been fretting over what to do if I remove the cat...
I was under the truck tonight, and seen the scars! The previous owner beat me to it! looked like he/she took a sawzall and made a semi circle cut about 6 inches long....and peeled the can open. Did a pretty neat job welding it back up to I must admit.
Apparently, the Jet chip in place is keeping the oxygen sensor code quiet.

Does anyone know of a product 'better' than the Jet chip for the '97 5.9 gas?
superchips: nada.

I emailed them with my requests on the '97. (Hypertech). Talk about beating a dead mule! They do show a product for the 97, but trying to explain to them what has been done to my truck, and what I was 'wondering about' (with the cat thing etc)... The salesman went into a 'cover his ass' coma. "Everything must be functional". etc etc. I wonder if they have to say this to keep Big Brother happy?
BG on the other hand.....muhahaaaa... He will build me anything I want!

SCREW AL GORE!

ROTFL...sounds like the sales guy at Hypertech is only that, a sales guy vs. a tech. And yeah, I bet that's exactly what they have to do. Obviously, they would not want it known to government agencies that they advocated removal of pollution control and emissions devices.

BG will build what you need from mild to wild. But they also will not advocate removal of required emissions controls. They just know how to get around them.
