Hmmm... quite the project you have going. I'll have to do some research and get back to you. Far as I know, the satellite radio modules are external, and most of it is plug and play. MyGig's typically have external amplification through the "Alpine" upgrade, but it shouldn't take much to add your own amplifier to it.

Is there a trick to taking the dash surround off? I have a 2006 Big Horn and cant for the life of me get the wood grain surround off...Am I missing something? Are there hidden screws or do you have to take more off to get that surround off? I've been driving myself crazy with this lol.

Here's another great help (fast forward to 1:05 if you don't have the center console):

Hello,

I have a 2004 Ram with the RBQ head unit (oval, single din, cd) and regular 4 speaker system. I want to replace the existing unit with a REQ double din unit. Aside from the dash mod is this swap even possible? Is the existing wiring harness compatible? If not is there an adapter available? I am just trying to get Sirius radio and an aux jack installed as cheaply and OEM looking as possible.

Thanks

You'd have to make your own bezel, but it could be done.

Hate to say it though, but it would be much cheaper to go aftermarket and get those features.

I would suggest aftermarket as well...

I believe Pac-Audio make a few adapters that may work for what you are trying to do, and you would be able to keep your HU.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply's everyone. I priced the aux adapter and xmd1000 satellite receiver that is compatible with my head unit (RBQ). The only problem is that the head unit does not store satellite presets and doesn't display song info. Also the cost for both is around $150.00 plus shipping. On the other hand I have seen the REQ head units on ebay for around $60.00 bucks and I just like the way that unit looks. Again thanks for the quick reply's.
