If you have the factory subwoofer then you can use that input and be fine. Not sure what you mean about LOC wattage requirements for the 10W3, the aftermarket amp would take care of the wattage. Might want to check your amp specs, some JL amps don't need a line output converter (they can accept a high voltage input) and you can just use a RCA splice from the factory harness right to the amplifier.

Either way Dillon, you will be fine. Just make sure that if you cut the factory plug, you have enough length of wire to reach the new speakers.

Default 2010 radio swap

Ok I read through all 29 pages here and nothing on what I need. This is not my first adventure into audio and honestly do wiring fairly easy. However I have never toyed with a can bus system and with also keeping the steering wheel controls.

I have a 2010 crew cab 1500. I have the basic 6 speaker package with no amps.

I am looking to simply replace the head unit with aftermarket and keep steering wheel controls.

I already have all three pac controllers I need.

CRY4, swi ps and swi can2.

I have all the wiring schematics on these there items and think I have it worked out. My question is it either looks to easy or I don't want to screw it up. Are these three boxes easy to install and make everything work. Is there a breakdown somewhere that someone has done on installing all three pac boxes, I think wiring main one is fairly forward but gets confusing adding the 2 others in.

Wiring schematics from pac not needed as I have all them already, some insight or actually pictures of these wired in would be great. At least if I saw a picture with all three wired in it could tell me alot.

Thanks Guys

Default DVD Monitors

I have a 2008 1500 Quad Cab that I just installed headrest monitors in. I've been looking at some universal sun visor monitors as well but am curious as how good they are as to mounting because I don't want to cut into my headliner or drill holes so that I can put the truck back to stock. Any advise ?

Thanks bro! Reason I asked about the LOC wattage was bc I see different LOC advertising different wattage, and don't understand how that is related to the new speakers.

NEW QUESTION: Talked to my local audio shop and they said the JLW3 "may" not work due to the mounting depth requirements and the magnet vent hole... What you guys think? Anyone running a W3 and if so what box are you using?

Yeah I barely had enough wire, crazy close. I am amazed with the quality of these speakers. Very loud, crisp and very clean. I am very glad I went with JL and I'm sticking with them.

Few more questions... I am not sure what the back speaker size is, but I think I want to get some good mids from back there. Any ideas?? I would love to keep it all JL. Hopefully by beginning of february I will have my W3 and amp in.

Hmmm... that's a possibility... I would think it'd be ok though. They aren't much different than most 10" subwoofers out there.

You can get 6 1/2" in the rear doors, most people will tell you they are 5 1/4" though.

Okay, any speakers you could suggest? And if I get an amp for my door speakers should I run the front and rears all off the same amp?
