From what I have read (never attemted this either, so take it for what it's worth)

I read that you can connect the remaining blue wire from the Scoche harness to the remote turn on wire from the aftermarket harness, and it SHOULD work. While I don't recommend this route, it may be an option.

As for the issues with the Infinity system......

First, they use some of the cheapest drivers imaginable coupled with a second rate at best amplifier and then separate frequencies between speakers that make no sense. Instead of sending full range signal each speaker, and using inductors or inline crossovers, they sent bandpassed signals from the amp, that makes it all but irrelevant to change your speakers. I am sure you will read about lots of folks complaining that after they changed the Infinity speakers to something else aftermarket, they are not pleased with the output.......well, this is why.

If it were me, I would completely bypass it all together and install my own drivers and amplifiers, but thats me....

Thanks,

Yes, you can get a decent amount of space using the underseat area. You will have to add an aftermarket amplifier to the system to power the sub(s), for the Infinity amp doesnt have the power available

I am not a big fan of the cheapo's for the lack of airspace, but, if you are using a sub or subs that dont require much, you should be fine..

I hate doing things the cheap way. If you're going to do it, do it right.... What box would you recommend?

Hmmm, well, from what I have experimented with, 200-300 Watts RMS for 1-10" or 12", and 400-600 for 2 subs. Just make sure you are looking at true RMS power and not the "marketing scheme" peak power. One easy way to tell is by the size of the onboard fuses if they have them. Figure 100 true watts per 10 amps, so if it has 2-30amp fuses, you should be good for 600 watts.

Be sure to check mounting depth and air space requirements on your sub(s) to ensure proper ventilation and mounting.

I am installing an Alpine deck and amps in my truck. What harnesses do I need? How do I bypass the factory amp?
