I have the factory Alpine system with the amp. I know they offer an expensive harness that interfaces with the CAN system. But I don't know if I need to bypass my factory amp or not. The Alpine power pack I have amplifies the audio before it gets to the stock amp. Basically, I am wanting to run the amplified sound to the stock speaker wires and not have to rewire everything.

Any reccomendations for a Dual 10" or dual 12" box for a 2001 dodge ram? extended cab. And maybe some good subs for the box, resonably priced subs.

I don't think you will be able to run an amp before the stocker, I will do some checking...

Unfortunately, there is not much in the marketplace for your truck, but here is a couple good options...

As fo subs, I need to know your listening preference and budget to really recommend anything

I think I will have to just run the speaker wires from behind the radio to the speakers. I will just unhook the stock amp and call it good I guess.

I listen to a lot of rock, but i also like to pound pretty hard to hip hop as well.
I would say maybe like 3 to 400 dollars for the subs and amps.

That's your safest bet. It will sound mucho better bypassing the factory amp anyways.

My vote goes towards this box:

1994-2001 Extended Cab Front Firing Dual 12" Enclosure

These subs:

Kenwood KFC-3011 12" subwoofers

And this amp:

Precision Power PPI S580.2 2-Channel
